As a HelpLine Advisor, you will receive the incoming telephone calls from clients in need.  You will listen to their story, gather and record relevant information, and ask if you can pray with the person over the phone.  After the call, you will check references to verify the need, and then work with the HelpLine Coordinator to develop a plan to help the client connect to the various ministries and resources within our community.

At least one half day per week is needed.  Typically a person will volunteer on the same day each week, either from 8AM to noon, or from 11:30 AM until 3:30 PM.  To apply, please fill out and email the volunteer application.

HelpLine volunteers should have

1.       a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be in agreement with our statement of faith

2.       good communication and telephone skills

3.       the ability to listen, empathize, and communicate love and care for others

4.       basic computer skills

5.       the ability to be a team player but able to work independently and cooperatively.

6.       at least one weekly half-day block of time to volunteer on a regular basis

7.       a commitment to be reliable and dependable in your service
