Our Belief
We affirm the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments in their entirety, to be the inspired Word of God:

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We use the Apostle’s Creed* as the common basis to identify our unity in Christ :

“I believe in God the Father almighty;
and in Christ Jesus His only Son, our Lord,
Who was born from the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
Who under Pontius Pilate was crucified and buried,
on the third day rose again from the dead,
ascended to heaven,
sits at the right hand of the Father,
from where He will come to judge the living and the dead;
and in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Church,
the remission of sins,
the resurrection of the flesh,
the life everlasting.”

* This text is one of the earliest forms of the Creed, thought to originate in the second century. A creed is simply a statement of faith. When asked by Jesus Christ, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter’s response was his creed, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” The English word creed comes from the Latin credo, meaning “I believe.” It was called the Apostles’ Creed not because the apostles wrote it, but because it was believed to be an accurate summary of what the apostles taught.
